Diverse Cold Storage Capability
As an independent operator and a licenced cold store, we are able to provide a variety of services to a wide range of industries.
Products we can keep in our cold stores include (along with a whole host of other stock lines):
Seafood, Bait, Dairy (butter, cheese and margarine), Stock Food, Berry Fruit, Horticultural Products, Fruit Juices and Purees, Ice, Pet Food, Honey and Bee Related Products.
Accredited Cold Stores Facility
We are a New Zealand Food Safety Authority registered cold storage facility that is fully licensed to store chilled, frozen and dry products. Our freezers and chillers are able to operate at a range of temperatures to suit your needs. Licences are held for seafood, dairy, petfood honey and local market meat.
Our Risk Management Programme is fully approved and is based on the application of HACCP principles. We are also registered with the US Food and Drug Administration to store food products.
Accurate Inventory & Documentation Systems
We operate accurate inventory and documentation systems and send weekly reports to our customers, giving our customers details of their stock movements, balances, inventory data, inwards / outwards advice notes and keep spreadsheets of all stock stored at our cold stores. We have complete cold chain traceability and integrity from the time of receipting to dispatch.

We are an approved cold storage facility that is certified to receive and unload imported sea containers from all countries.

Inspection and Unloading to Meet NZ Standards
Port Pack & Cool Storage receives products in frozen, chilled reefer containers or in dry boxes. Containers are inspected, cleared and unloaded to meet the requirements of NZ Ministry of Primary Industries Biosecurity Standards and in accordance with our approved Risk Management Program.
MPI & Biosecurity
As a certified transitional facility, we have accredited cold storage staff members that are responsible for identifying potential biosecurity threats, such as pests and diseases that arrive in imported sea containers. We require correct documentation prior to unloading containers. This includes a Biosecurity Authority Clearance Certificate (BACC) or a Customs Delivery Order to ensure the container has a MPI release.
Unloading & Loading Services
Imported sea containers are received from around the world. We unload on site by hand or forklift. Goods are palletised and placed into the appropriate frozen, chilled or dry storage areas and loaded as requested.
Export containers are loaded either by hand or forklift. Pick lists are followed, goods loaded, documentation completed and container freighted to destination in a timely and organised fashion.
